2014 Ford F-150

Vehicles Affected: Ford is recalling 45,000 model-year 2014 F-150s.

The Problem: According to the automaker, signal loss between the transmission output shaft speed sensor and the powertrain control module can cause the transmission to unexpectedly downshift into first gear. The unexpected downshift can increase the risk of a crash.

The Fix: Dealers will update the PCM software as necessary and for free. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed July 6.

2018–20 Ford F-150

Vehicles Affected: Ford is recalling 91,000 model-year 2018–20 F-150s.

The Problem: According to the automaker, when the headlight switch is turned from “Autolamps” to “Headlamps On,” the daytime running lights may remain fully bright instead of dimming to parking lamps as intended.

The Fix: Dealers will reprogram the body control module software as necessary and for free. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed July 6.

2012–18 Ford Focus Sedan/Hatchback

Vehicles Affected: Ford is recalling 250,000 model-year 2012–18 Focus sedans and hatchbacks that were repaired under an earlier recall.

The Problem: According to the automaker, the canister purge valve of these vehicles may malfunction, which could cause the engine to stall unexpectedly while driving.

The Fix: Dealers will update the powertrain control module software for free. Notification letters are expected to be mailed July 6.

2018–24 Ford Expedition

Vehicles Affected: Ford is recalling 548,000 model-year 2018–24 Expeditions.

The Problem: According to the automaker, the chrome plating on the center console of these vehicles may bubble and peel.

The Fix: Dealers will inspect and replace the center consoles as necessary and for free. Interim letters notifying owners of the issue are expected to be mailed June 29.

Honda Recalls 880,000 Vehicles

Vehicles Affected: Honda is recalling approximately 880,000 model-year 2016–22 Pilot SUVs, 2017–23 Ridgeline pickup trucks, 2019–23 Passport SUVs and 2014–20 Acura MDXs sold in states that commonly use road salt and other de-icing agents, including Connecticut, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia and Wisconsin.

The Problem: According to the automaker, an improper coating may allow the rear subframe mounting points to corrode, leading to the failure of rear suspension components like the rear control arm.

The Fix: Dealers will inspect the rear subframe, install a rear subframe reinforcement kit and, as necessary, repair or replace affected rear subframe components for free. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed July 7.

2021–25 Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators

Vehicles Affected: Parent company Stellantis is recalling more than one million model-year 2021–25 Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators.

The Problem: According to the automaker, the wiring of the electric hydraulic power steering pump may overheat and cause a fire when in motion or when the vehicle is parked with the ignition off.

The Fix: Owners are instructed to park outside and away from structures until their vehicle is repaired. To resolve the issue, dealers will inspect and replace the affected parts as necessary and for free. Owner notification letters will be sent July 9.
