Velocity has announced its new line of classic International Scout IIs. Built to the same high standards as Velocity’s other classic vehicle lines, the new 1971-80 Velocity Scout IIs have been reimagined and rebuilt from the ground up as turnkey drivers, according to the company.

Featuring a LT1 V8 engine mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission, a Roadster Shop chassis with custom suspension and modern luxuries such as Vintage Air climate control and a Focal sound system, the Velocity Scout II is designed to provide modern performance and reliability while maintaining its original charm.

Each Velocity Scout II comes equipped with Dana 44 front and Dana 60 rear axles. A custom-built performance exhaust accentuates the V8’s roar, while Wilwood four-piston disc brakes stop the Scout.

For the exterior, Velocity’s designers maintained the iconic look of the Scout while elevating it with several modern components. The exterior features custom Glasurit paint, unique body graphics and an optional OEM-style hardtop. JWSpeaker LED headlights light up the night set in a bespoke grill with chrome bumpers. The Scout grips the road thanks to 35-inch BFGoodrich All-Terrain tires wrapped around 18-inch MT Bullet polished alloy wheels, offering durability and performance on and off-road.

Each Scout comes standard with a custom six-point roll cage and a safari top for a safe, open-air driving experience. Velocity-exclusive front bucket seats and a rear bench provide passenger seating and are available in marine-grade vinyl or custom leather for a more premium feel. The front buckets can also be optionally heated or ventilated for improved comfort. A Bluetooth stereo pumps sound to the Focal Audio speakers and subwoofer, with an optional upgrade to include an Apple CarPlay-enabled touch screen with a backup camera.

Modern climate control is handled through a Vintage Air air-conditioning system. A Velocity-exclusive Dakota Digital gauge cluster and a wooden steering wheel attached to an Ididit tilt steering column accent the custom dash.

The exterior of the Heritage Edition comes standard with custom exterior billet components, a paint-matched engine bay and color-matched painted steel wheels. Inside, Velocity provides a custom leather interior and Recaro front bucket seats. A bespoke Velocity center console with wireless charging is added, along with color-matched carpet to elevate the cabin.

“The International Scout is legendary in the classic 4×4 space,” said Stuart Wilson, Velocity’s CEO and founder. “Our team has been building custom Scouts for years and we’re excited to bring that experience with this platform to our Signature Series lineup. The Velocity Scout II represents a revival of the all-American off-road icon. We are thrilled to be bringing these trucks back into the world.”

The Velocity Scout II will serve as Velocity’s seventh line of modernized classic vehicles. Each Velocity vehicle is built in-house, undergoes 500 miles of rigorous testing and a 300-point quality inspection, and includes a two-year bumper-to-bumper warranty. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in spring 2025.
