Mercedes-Benz G-Class Restorer Touring Acquired by CURATED

CURATED, an automotive restorer specializing in historically significant collector vehicles, has acquired Touring (formerly Touring Design), a company offering bespoke all-terrain builds on the Mercedes-Benz G-Class platform.
Touring builds each of its vehicles to order. Clients specify the drivetrain, interior and finish. Each build is engineered to be driven anywhere in the world, with no two being the same.
The company also plans and handles the logistics of getting vehicles and drivers to wherever they intend to go, from shipping and routing to support on the ground, so owners can take a G-Class abroad without arranging any of it themselves.
“Touring is a natural fit for CURATED,” said John Temerian, CURATED cofounder. “Our philosophy is about celebrating automotive passion in all its forms, whether that’s a preserved low-mileage original or a reimagined modern classic. Touring shares our obsession with detail and craftsmanship, and there’s massive potential in bringing these G-Class vehicles to our community.”
Growing Demand
The acquisition follows growing demand from CURATED’s own clients, who increasingly come to the company for the experiences it creates as much as the cars it sells, officials noted in a press release. The same collectors who buy for originality and provenance are also asking for a vehicle they can drive hard and travel in—a pattern CURATED has seen across its rally and event programs. Touring offers those types of builds.
“Every vehicle we build is commissioned by someone who intends to use it, and we handle what it takes to get them there,” said Ryan Webb, Touring founder. “CURATED has been doing that for collectors for years and joining them puts what we build in front of the people most likely to want it.”
Through the acquisition, which is effective immediately, Touring will continue to build on the G-Class platform and Webb will still lead the brand, according to the release. Under the new ownership Touring gains access to CURATED’s collector network and its rally and event calendar.
CURATED clients will be able to commission Touring vehicles directly through CURATED, with completed builds shown at future events, private client experiences and select automotive exhibitions.
