Osprey Custom Cars Owner Acquires MegaRexx Trucks
Aaron Richardet, founder and owner of Osprey Custom Cars, has purchased MegaRexx Trucks, the company announced. MegaRexx Trucks is the builder of the MegaRaptor custom truck.
A MegaRaptor starts as either a Ford F-250, F-350 or F-450 Super Duty, and is then modified with an expansive conversion package.
The MegaRaptor base conversion package includes all fiberglass parts, a steel halo that supports the hood and lights, links for the tilt mechanism, headlights, taillights, grill, amber or white lights for the grill, gas shocks that help lift and hold the hood open and the necessary parts to facilitate the larger wheel and tire combination.
The tires are 46-inch Michelin XZL tires and the wheels are aluminum military MRAP (Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected) wheels. These wheels are rated at twice the strength of normal truck wheels and each MRAP wheel is rated to carry over 10,000 lbs. The truck then visits Megarexx’s inhouse paint shop and custom accessories as defined by the buyer are added. Then the truck is road-tested and adjusted.
Every MegaRaptor is a true, one-off build, the company said. The option list includes choices of body color, body texture, lighting, suspension, front bumper design, trailer hitches, side rails, spare tire mounts and more. In all cases, the truck retains its workload capabilities, as the bed is not altered.
