BluePrint Engines Performance Blocks Earn Broad NHRA Approval

BluePrint Engines has announced that an extensive lineup of its BluePrint Performance (BPP) cast-iron engine blocks has earned approval for use in NHRA-sanctioned competition.
The approvals span BluePrint Performance small-block Chevy (SBC), big-block Chevy (BBC), LS and small-block Ford (SBF) platforms, providing racers and professional engine builders with a broad selection of NHRA-approved foundations for competition engine programs, company officials stated in a press release.
For BluePrint Engines to earn the NHRA approval for all classes, the engine blocks have been certified by the National Hot Rod Association to meet applicable dimensional, material and performance standards for use in NHRA-sanctioned events.
Additional BluePrint Performance blocks have received approval specifically for Stock, Super Stock and Competition Eliminator applications, further expanding the company’s presence in competitive drag racing.
“NHRA approval is an important step for our performance block program and for the engine builders and racers who rely on our products,” said Jason Bruce, sales and marketing manager at BluePrint Engines. “We have invested heavily in our manufacturing and machining capabilities here in Kearney, and we’re excited to give racers another high-quality, competition-approved foundation for their engine programs. We look forward to expanding our involvement with the NHRA community and supporting racers at the track.”
BluePrint Performance blocks are manufactured from cast iron, with castings produced by BluePrint’s foundry partner in Germany. All machining is performed at BluePrint Engines’ manufacturing facility in Kearney, Nebraska, giving the company direct control over critical machining operations and quality standards, the company said.
With NHRA approval now covering a substantial portion of the BPP block lineup, BluePrint Engines says that it is looking to build upon that experience by expanding its support of racers and professional engine builders throughout the drag racing community.
The NHRA approvals give racers and engine builders additional options when selecting the foundation for an NHRA-legal engine combination while bringing BluePrint Engines’ manufacturing, engineering and performance expertise to a larger segment of competitive drag racing, the release noted.
