Motor State Distributing Announces 17th Annual Motor State Challenge

What began as an informal race event among friends, the Motor State Challenge now attracts more than 100 drivers from around the country…

Motor State Distributing will host the 17th annual Motor State Challenge on July 24-26, 2025. This anticipated three-day Pro-Touring event tests drivers’ skills on the street, the track and the skidpad, and serves as a wildcard qualifier for the Optima Search for the Ultimate Street Car Finals in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Events include a spirited police-escorted cruise through the Southwest Michigan countryside, road course racing at GingerMan Raceway, and autocross at Tire Rack’s South Bend, Indiana, headquarters. Drivers will compete in everything from vintage muscle cars to modern sports cars, and even a few customized trucks.

From its beginnings as a local, informal race event among friends, the Motor State Challenge has become a perennial favorite that attracts as many as 100 drivers from around the country, noted company officials in a press release. The event includes multiple classes, including vintage, late model, and manufacturer. It also features the QA #goDRIVEit class, which captures the original spirit of the event by encouraging racers to drive their vehicle to the event, race it and then drive it home.

Founded in 1964, Motor State Distributing is a six-time SEMA award-winning warehouse distributor serving the circle track industry and customers across the United States, Canada and more than 68 countries worldwide. Motor State Distributing is privately owned and operated by Lane Automotive.
