EnerSys Renews ODYSSEY Battery Sponsorship Deal With Team BRIT

Continued partnership will help racing team create more opportunities for disabled racers of all levels…

EnerSys, a producer of energy solutions for industrial applications and the manufacturer of ODYSSEY batteries, has committed to powering the world’s only competitive team of all disabled racing drivers for the fourth consecutive year after extending its ODYSSEY battery sponsorship with Team BRIT for 2025. As part of the company’s longstanding support for Team BRIT and its mission to create a level playing field for disabled racing drivers, EnerSys will equip the team’s custom-built vehicles with ODYSSEY batteries, as well as provide technical battery expertise throughout the season.

Team BRIT’s race cars—two McLaren 570S GT4s and a BMW M240i, which use advanced hand control technology to allow drivers to compete on equal terms against their able-bodied rivals—will also feature ODYSSEY battery branding.

“We’re looking forward to another exciting season ahead with Team BRIT,” said Dave McMullen, senior director of global marketing, transportation & specialty at EnerSys. “Over the years, it’s been fantastic to see Team BRIT take podium after podium, and we’re incredibly proud to be a part of the journey as they continue to champion inclusion in the world of motorsport and beyond.”

The renewed sponsorship agreement will help enable Team BRIT to further its work to create opportunities for disabled drivers, from grassroots, entry-level racing to the most competitive endurance racing in the United Kingdom.

“It’s phenomenal to have the continued support of EnerSys and the ODYSSEY battery brand,” said Al Locke, engineering director at Team BRIT. “Endurance racing demands a battery that is reliable and tough. We’ve been using ODYSSEY batteries for many years and they never let us down; they deliver extreme power, they’re lightweight and they’re sturdy enough to cope with any knocks on the racetrack. We need the best kit to help us continue with our goals to drive real change, so we’re thrilled to have ODYSSEY batteries on board as we continue to break down barriers in motorsport.”

Team BRIT is one of the many top-level competitive racing teams that rely on ODYSSEY batteries to power their vehicles through every race. EnerSys says that ODYSSEY batteries are engineered with Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) Thin Plate Pure Lead (TPPL) technology that delivers extreme power and reliability, while also providing strong resistance to the high-impact shock and mechanical vibration associated with motorsport.
