Ford Introduces Stereo Advertising Patent

The technology would use GPS & speed sensors to determine ads played through infotainment systems...

News from Autoblog reports that Ford has introduced a new patent that would allow for the automaker to utilize customers’ stereo systems to push advertisements into the vehicle and features to determine the types of advertisements to broadcast.

The patent was first filed back in 2023, but according to Autoblog, news around the system only went public recently. The system utilizes GPS and speed to help determine user-targeted ads.

Autoblog notes that although the patent application was put forward, Ford expects pushback against the patent and doubts that the patent would come to fruition in the coming years.
