The new model loses the Chiron’s quad-turbo W8 engine setup in favor of three electric motors producing 800hp to the front wheels and a bespoke V16 engine with a flat-plane crankshaft bringing the entire package to nearly 2,000 horsepower with a 9,000 rpm redline.

The name Tourbillion is in reference to the rotating assembly within a mechanical watch that prevents errors in timing due to gravity. Bugatti named the car to celebrate the hybrid’s mechanical-analog nature.

The timepiece theme continues inside the Tourbillion – the steering wheel utilizes a unique floating design with instrumentation integrated into the wheel. The instrument face is finished in milled sapphire crystal, a common glass used by watchmakers and known for its scratch resistance.

The Tourbillion features a disappearing center screen, as Bugatti head, Mate Rimac, has come out against screens in luxury automobiles.

The Tourbillon is also the first new model from the brand since Bugatti and Rimac merged in 2021.
