Yokohama Tire Renews Partnership With Surfrider North OC
Teaming up to protect the world’s ocean, waves & beaches…
For the second consecutive year, Yokohama Tire is partnering with the Surfrider Foundation’s North OC Chapter of the nationally recognized nonprofit Surfrider Foundation USA on various projects to protect the world’s ocean, waves and beaches.
“Yokohama is extremely honored to be working again alongside Surfrider Foundation’s North OC Chapter to help them contribute to a sustainable society through numerous initiatives to protect the environment,” said Alan Holtschneider, Yokohama’s director of marketing. “For example, Yokohama employees will once again volunteer on beach cleanups. Last summer, we contributed to the pick-up and removal of 264 pounds of trash at the San Gabriel Jetty at Seal Beach, California.”
Holtschneider added Yokohama will continue to support Surfrider Foundation’s North OC Chapter with the distribution of student club memberships; water quality testing kits; biodegradable utensils, straws, etc.; starter kits for restaurants wanting to become ocean friendly; cigarette butt collection canisters; and replacement equipment for harbor cleanups.
Yokohama will also send volunteers to Washington, D.C. and Sacramento, California in 2025 to speak with elected officials regarding the issues and solutions impacting the coastline.
“The Surfrider Foundation’s North Orange County chapter is once again thankful to Yokohama Tire for its support of our efforts to protect the ocean, waves and beaches for all people to enjoy,” said Richard Busch, co-chair, Surfrider Foundation North Orange County Chapter. “We know Yokohama’s leadership is aware of environmental issues impacting the planet and are delighted to see their sustainability efforts in rubber seed research to mitigate plastic pollution. We look forward to having the Yokohama team located in our area joining us at events this coming year.”
