The Pioneer Corp. Board of Directors on Monday promoted Koichi Moriya to become the company’s next president and CEO, effective in late June. Moriya currently serves as director and senior executive officer for Pioneer.
Susumu Kotani, currently serving as the company’s president and CEO, will soon transition to the role of chairman executive officer.
The executive team changes remain subject to approval at Pioneer’s ordinary general meeting of shareholders and the resolution by the board of directors, both to be held on that day.
Moriya has a wealth of experience in the Pioneer Group, including important posts at the sales and marketing division of Pioneer, having been president of its overseas subsidiary, and having taken responsibilities at administrative divisions at Pioneer, according to the company.
“Under Mr. Moriya’s new leadership, Pioneer Corp. will expedite review of operations and seek to improve its business performance,” according to a statement by Pioneer. “Mr. Kotani will be supporting the new president at external activities and so on.”
