OPTIMA Batteries & Racing Redefined Offer Live Data at Off-Road Races

OPTIMA Batteries, a division of Clarios, has announced a partnership that aims to elevate the off-road enthusiast experience by providing accurate and in-depth live data during off-road races. Founded by Chip and Christopher Polvoorde, Racing Redefined has provided the platform, ideation and strategy necessary to expand live streaming capabilities. With the help of OPTIMA Batteries, Racing Redefined hosted its flagship stream at the Legacy Racing Association’s Battleground off-road race in Laughlin, Nevada, on April 12-13.
After months of preparation, OPTIMA Batteries, in partnership with Racing Redefined, launched the first iteration of the new off-road racing livestream, available through the Racing Redefined app.
The new app offers a multitude of interactive options, including live map tracking, corrected timing from start to finish, live leaderboards, push notifications for specific drivers, event information and messaging, and social sharing.

The new service was created by the racers themselves. Christopher and his father, Chip, saw a need for additional on-the-spot data during off-road races and began plotting this project.
“Off-road racing can be difficult to spectate,” said Chip. “With today’s technology and help from OPTIMA Batteries, we can bring a lot more information directly to the fans and make things easier to follow along. Our hope is that this will help lift the entire sport to a new level.”
Kicking off the first true test at the Battleground race, fans could beta-test the app with the Unlimited Truck class. With a positive reception overall, Racing Redefined and OPTIMA Batteries are ready to implement the program at additional races in the future, noted company officials in a press release.
“The Racing Refined app and the underlying technology are potential game-changers for spectating a desert race,” said Cam Douglass, director of marketing for OPTIMA Batteries. “This is the first time in my career where I’ve been able to follow an accurate leaderboard with corrected time throughout the entire race.”
The Racing Redefined app is now available in the Apple Store and Google Play Store, with streaming available at upcoming Legacy Racing Association off-road events.
