ODYSSEY Battery Sponsorship of Team Oliver Racing Has Been Extended by EnerSys

EnerSys & Team Oliver Racing have been working together for nearly a decade…

EnerSys, a provider of stored energy solutions for industrial applications and the manufacturer of ODYSSEY batteries, is set to power Team Oliver Racing for the 2025 season of the British Truck Racing Championship (BTRC). This marks the ninth consecutive year that EnerSys will renew its ODYSSEY battery sponsorship with father-son duo, Stuart and Michael Oliver.

Martin Gibson will also return to Team Oliver Racing, bringing his expertise and experience to the lineup as they compete for the upcoming season. Together, they aim to continue their winning legacy with the support of EnerSys and its advanced battery technology, noted company officials in a press release.

As part of the company’s longstanding support for Team Oliver Racing, EnerSys will provide V4-certified ODYSSEY batteries to help power the team’s race trucks—a Volvo VNL and two MAN TGXs. Weighing in at over five tons each, the team’s three race vehicles will also feature ODYSSEY battery branding.

“A high-performing, dependable battery solution is crucial to success in the world of motorsport, and we’re thrilled to continue to support Team Oliver Racing as the skilled drivers continue to push the limits on the track to achieve victory,” said Dave McMullen, senior director of global marketing, transportation & specialty at EnerSys. “We’re looking forward to another exciting season with ODYSSEY batteries powering the performance of one of the most respected names in truck racing.”

The 2025 BRTC Season

Upcoming BTRC 2025 season events are scheduled to take place at Pembrey (May 17–18), Thruxton (July 5–6), Donington Park (August 9–10) and Snetterton (September 13–14). The season also sees the championship return to mainland Europe, with a race event at the Le Mans Bugatti circuit in France (September 20–21) before concluding at Brands Hatch (November 1–2).

Stuart, a 10-time British Truck Racing Champion, said, “We’re incredibly grateful to have EnerSys by our side for the 2025 season. Their battery technology has played a critical role in our success over the years. As a team, we’re focused on continuous improvement, and with ODYSSEY batteries, we’re more confident than ever that we can compete for the top spots in the BTRC this year.”

EnerSys says that Team Oliver Racing is one of the many top-level competitive racing teams to rely on ODYSSEY batteries to power their vehicles through every race. The battery brand is also used by fleet operators. Engineered with Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) Thin Plate Pure Lead (TPPL) technology, ODYSSEY batteries deliver extreme power and reliability in the toughest conditions, while also providing strong resistance to high-impact shock and mechanical vibration, noted the press release.
