Jaguar Type 01 Debuts in New York as Most Powerful Car in Brand History

Jaguar unveiled Type 01 during a world premiere event in New York on Oct. 6 that stretched from large-scale digital displays in Times Square to its arrival for an exclusive gathering at STORIED in West Chelsea.
The engineering and singular focus behind this electric-only architecture give Type 01 distinctive proportions and driving dynamics, with more than 360 patent applications. Defined by exuberant proportions—with its low roofline, long hood, sleek silhouette and dramatic presence—it is the most aerodynamic and powerful Jaguar road car ever created, according to a company press release.
Tri-Motor Performance & 850-Volt Charging
Tri-motor technology with Intelligent Torque Vectoring provides up to 1,015 horsepower and 1,007 pound-feet of torque, achieving 0-60 mph (0-100 km/h) in 3.1 seconds. Its rate of rolling acceleration goes from 62 mph to 112 mph (100 km/h to 180 km/h) in 4.0 seconds. Type 01 also features 50:50 weight distribution. Know-how from the double world championship-winning Jaguar TCS Racing Formula E team helped finesse its unique character, the company said.
A 118 kWh battery and 850-volt architecture achieve an anticipated range of up to 400 miles and the ability to add up to 200 miles of range in as little as 13 minutes using 350 kW rapid DC charging.
The exterior color palette ranges from gloss colors to satin finishes that accentuate the monolithic quality of Type 01, and the exterior Fender Ingot showcases the famous Leaper.
Interior Design & Cabin Technology
Inside, a central spine runs the length of the cabin to create individual spaces for each occupant. It is mirrored on each side by brass-inspired elements that run from front to back, defining the longitudinal nature of the interior.
The Interactive Driver Display—a 24-inch single-glass OLED screen—places control directly ahead of the driver. An additional smartphone-style 7-inch display between the driver and front passenger places the most common key controls within easy reach. Immersive audio creates a wall of sound using a full-width, full-range Panoramic Soundbar with Sensory Audio seats.

Launch Event, Pricing & Availability
At the world premiere of Type 01 at STORIED in New York, Jaguar announced acclaimed actor Florence Pugh as the inaugural brand ambassador for its new era. Pugh joined guests and friends of the brand to celebrate the global arrival of Type 01. British singer-songwriter Sienna Spiro, Best New Artist at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards, performed an intimate set, while celebrated chef Roze Traoré conceived an exclusive culinary program inspired by Jaguar’s creative vision.
Orders open in early 2027, with first client deliveries expected in the second half of the year. Prices are anticipated to start from $130,500.
