Honda to Showcase First Concept Car at Pebble Beach
The Honda HP-X would go on to inspire the NSX...

A new report from Autoblog states that Honda is preparing to showcase its first concept vehicle at this year’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. The HP-X will be presented for the first time since 1984 and will compete in the Wedge-Shaped Concept Class.
The HP-X or Honda Prototype Experimental was the first concept car from the brand and used the concept as a soft introduction for the coming NSX.
The carbon fiber and Kevlar bodywork also utilized airbrakes and active aero to stretch the motorsport-derived 2.0L 24-valve V6 to its limit. The engine was derived from a Formula 2 engine.
The car was recently restored by Pininfarina in preparation for the event.
