Officials from the Hoosier Racing Tire and Historic Sportscar Racing (HSR) announced a multi-year agreement where Hoosier will become an Official Partner of HSR. Within the new agreement, Hoosier has been named series presenting sponsor and a preferred tire of the HSR SascoSports International/American Challenge presented by Hoosier. The company will also be the first partner and charter member of the new HSR Tire Village.
As a part of the U.S. and now the global motorsports industry for nearly 70 years, Hoosier produces more than 1,000 different types of racing and high-performance tires for competitors in various racing disciplines. It has long been a popular tire of choice for HSR competitors, but this is the first time the company has entered into an official partnership with the North America sanctioning body for historic and vintage motorsports competition, noted officials in a press release.
One of HSR’s most popular championships, the SascoSports International/American Challenge presented by Hoosier, features classic sports cars going head-to-head for International, American and Porsche class honors. Next up on the 2025 HSR calendar is the HSR Watkins Glen Classic 6 Hour presented by Mission Foods at Watkins Glen International, June 11-14.
The New HSR Tire Village
Hoosier’s support is also at the foundation of the HSR Tire Village. The Tire Village is HSR’s branding platform for tire brands, located in the heart of the paddock or fan zone, where competition and community intersect. HSR says this activation brings tire technology, motorsport passion and consumer interaction together in an immersive setting.
As the founding partner of the HSR Tire Village, Hoosier gains access to a full complement of benefits, including trackside and paddock branding, premium display space and exposure across HSR’s broad digital platforms, print communications, at-track PA announcements and more.
“At Hoosier, competition is in our DNA, and for nearly 70 years, we’ve built our legacy on delivering ultimate performance for racers at every level,” said Joerg Burfien, president & CEO, Hoosier Racing Tire. “Partnering with HSR is a natural extension of that legacy. This is a series where passion, history and true racing spirit come alive. It exemplifies the fierce competition and timeless machines that define historic racing, and we’re proud to put our name behind it.”
“Hoosier Racing Tire and Historic Sportscar Racing both having ‘racing’ in their names, and that is not the only similarity between our organizations or something that we take lightly,” said John Doonan, HSR president. “Hoosier and HSR are racing organizations rooted in a shared passion for great products and competition on the track and a close spirit of camaraderie and family spirit off the track when the racing day is done. We are delighted to welcome Hoosier to the HSR family and appreciate their investment and belief in HSR and our vision for the future of vintage and historic motorsports competition.”
