Hillsborough Concours to Highlight British Cars

The Hillsborough Concours d ’Elegance will showcase a selection of British motor cars during the 2023 event, scheduled for June 25 in Burlingame, California, organizers announced.

Displayed among more than 200 collector cars will be an assortment of British cars, led by a 1931 “Blower” Bentley, event officials said. One of 50 built in period and one of only three ordered and delivered with elongated fenders, low running boards and doors, this historic Bentley recently underwent a six-year restoration.

The Concours will also include the display of the 1931 Rolls-Royce Phantom II featured in the 1964 MGM film “The Yellow Rolls-Royce.” The motion picture included actors Ingrid Bergman, Rex Harrison, George C. Scott, Omar Sharif, and Shirley MacLaine.

Judging classes will also honor two sports car brands celebrating historical milestones in 2023, Concours organizers said. In honor of the 75th anniversary of Jaguar sports cars, a “Jaguar Sports Cars Through the Years” class will feature a 1950 XK120 OTS, a 1954 XK120 and a 1955 XK140.

In acknowledgement of the 100th anniversary of MG sports cars, the Concours will feature a “MG Sports Cars Through 1973” class, which will include a 1948 MG TC, and a 1960 MG MGA 1600.

Founded in 1956, the Concours presents more than 20 judged classes from hot rods and muscle cars to sports cars, motorcycles, and classic luxury models at the Crystal Springs Golf Course.
