‘D Lot’ Fundraiser to Continue Despite Detroit Autorama Cancelation

‘D Lot’ Fundraiser to Continue Despite Detroit Autorama Cancelation | THE SHOPDespite the recent cancelation of the Detroit Autorama, The D Lot, an annual vehicle showcase at the event developed and hosted by Pfaff Designs, will be held virtually to raise money for Make-A-Wish of Michigan, the design firm announced.

While enthusiasts won’t be able to physically gather at the event they will still be able to bid on over $30,000 in gearhead items, organizers said. All items will be featured in an online auction scheduled for April 30 through May 14. Funds raised through the auction will benefit Make-A-Wish of Michigan.

Over the years, the D Lot has raised more than $60,000 for charities, while giving away more than $200,000 in prizes. Murray Pfaff, of Pfaff Designs, hopes to raise thousands for the cause.

“For children with critical illness, Make-A-Wish Michigan makes a tough time for families more bearable,” says Pfaff. “And this year we have an ability to reach beyond the spectators at Autorama and out to the virtual world to make great things happen for deserving kids.”

The Silent Auction runs for two weeks and features over 50 items including Kicker Audio, Diamondback Classic Tires, a St. Ignace Car Cruise Weekend Package, a Phoenix Transmission, Pilot Automotive Transportation, a private Roush Racing Museum Tour, a private GM Heritage Tour, Magnuson Supercharger, AMSOIL products and more.”

Organizers will also be featuring special interviews and videos via The D Lot’s Facebook page.

“It was important for us to still present some of the automotive flavor of Autorama for those experiencing withdrawal from their favorite automotive events” says Pfaff.  “Plus they can walk away with some gearhead treasures.”
