Provider of technology and tools for auto repair professionals and enthusiasts TOPDON US announced on March 4 that Chad Schnitz, the vice president of TOPDON US, had been elected to serve on the Auto Care Association’s Tool & Equipment Council effective January 1, 2025. The Auto Care Association—dedicated to helping vehicles last longer, perform better and keep drivers safe—represents members from 164 countries across six continents. The Association’s open council positions are elected by a majority vote by council members at large.

“It’s an incredible honor to be elected to serve on the Auto Care Tool & Equipment Council,” said Chad Schnitz. “The Association plays an instrumental role in shaping the auto parts and aftermarket industries. From advocating fair policies at the legislative level to empowering members with important data and research for better decision-making, the benefits of membership are numerous. I’m looking forward to working closely with my fellow council members as we take advantage of the opportunities and address the challenges facing our industry over the next year.”

The Auto Care Tool & Equipment Council is comprised of up to 20 at-large members, as well as three officers including the chair, vice-chair and immediate past chair. At-large council members are elected for one year and are tasked with assisting the officers in their efforts to implement and monitor the progress and effectiveness of new or ongoing programs.

“We congratulate Chad on his election to the council and appreciate his willingness to bring his expertise and leadership to our members,” said Missy Stephens, community engagement manager, Auto Care Association “All of our council positions are voluntary, and our council goes above and beyond to help ensure our members are well-equipped to make the best decisions for their careers and their companies. We look forward to working with Chad and leveraging his experience and thought leadership to protect and advance the interests of our members’ businesses.”

The Auto Care Association serves the entire supply chain of the automotive aftermarket: businesses that manufacture, distribute and sell motor vehicle parts, accessories, tools, equipment, materials and supplies, as well as perform vehicle service, maintenance and repair. It provides advocacy, education, networking, technology, market intelligence and communications resources to serve the collective interests of its members.
