Bulova, an American innovator in fine timekeeping, announced its continued partnership with Carroll Shelby Licensing with the introduction of the SHELBY Racer Chronograph. Inspired by the 50th Anniversary Aluminum Edition Daytona Coupe, the timepiece mirrors the car’s distinctive design through automotive-inspired details and Bulova’s proprietary high-precision technology, company officials stated in a press release.
Design Details Drawn From the Daytona Coupe
The Shelby Daytona Coupe made history through its aerodynamic design, powerful performance and enduring influence on American motorsports. The Limited-Edition Shelby Racer pays tribute to that legacy through details drawn directly from the commemorative aluminum-bodied vehicle, noted the release. A high-polish stainless steel case frames a mirror-polished dial, reflecting the coupe’s distinctive aluminum exterior. Chronograph subdials take inspiration from the car’s dashboard gauges, while the split-finish stainless steel bracelet echoes its signature double racing stripes.
“Fielding the Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe in 1965, Shelby became the only American car company in history to win the prestigious FIA Sports Car World Championship,” said M. The 1964 Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe recently set a record as the most valuable American car ever sold at auction at the Pebble Beach Concours, where it also became the most valuable car ever sold by Gooding Christie’s at auction, achieving nearly $43 million.
Movement & Technical Specifications
The Limited-Edition Shelby Racer is powered by Bulova’s proprietary high-precision quartz movement, vibrating at a frequency of 262kHz for exceptional accuracy. The advanced movement also powers a fluid, sweeping chronograph hand and a running seconds hand, creating a dynamic display that reflects the speed and precision synonymous with Shelby performance, the company said.
The Bulova and Daytona Coupe logos on the commemorative glass caseback insert offer a tribute to the partnership. An interchangeable brown padded leather strap provides a more classic, automotive-inspired styling option.

Created for automotive and watch enthusiasts alike, the Limited-Edition Shelby Racer is presented in a special Shelby box alongside a 1:24-scale silver-plated Shelby Racer model. Together, the watch, interchangeable strap and collectible car create a fitting tribute to the precision engineering and bold design shared by Bulova and Shelby, officials said.
