According to a new report from Reuters, Brembo has announced its largest ever acquisition, with the purchase of suspension manufacturer Öhlins Racing for $405 million. The acquisition is expected to close in early 2025.
The news of the acquisition comes weeks after the brake manufacturer sold its 5.6% stake in Pirelli tires, according to Reuters. Currently, Öhlins provides suspension technologies to both Formula 1 and MotoGP as well as various OEM and aftermarket applications.
At the time of writing the suspension technology manufacturer has 500 employees with production facilities in Sweden and Thailand, two R&D facilities and four testing sites worldwide.
