Propane Power, Diesel Work: Inside Stanadyne’s New DI Pumps & Injectors
Stanadyne & Katech's liquid propane direct-injection pumps & injectors redefine what propane can do in work-truck duty...
Stanadyne’s new liquid propane direct-injection pump and injector system, developed with Katech, is redefining what propane can do in work-truck duty. Purpose-built LPG pumps feature a modified liquid flow path that keeps the fuel in a stable state and continuously lubricates and cools the pump, while specially coated injectors use unique spray hole geometry to tightly deliver propane for efficient in-cylinder mixing.

The result is a system that can deliver propane autogas at up to 200–350 bar directly into the combustion chamber, meeting all power and torque targets of the baseline gasoline engine without the typical propane power loss. Tested over a 250-hour durability cycle, the hardware is engineered for medium-duty fleets that need lower emissions, high efficiency and affordable, low-carbon performance.
