Audi R8 LMS GT2 Makes U.S. Debut at Monterey Car Week
The Audi R8 LMS GT2 made its U.S. debut at the annual Monterey Car Week, following its global debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed earlier this year.
The latest model from Audi Sport incorporates learnings from Audi drivers and race teams, according to the company, and features the highest specification of the naturally aspirated 5.2-liter engine, generating 640 hp.
The most powerful racecar Audi Sport customer racing has developed. the R8 LMS GT2 is designed for a new formula of Grand Touring racing that caters to track enthusiasts.
“The GT2 is the ideal sports car for fielding races in the new GT2 category that will be introduced in 2020, as well as being suitable for track days and events at resorts and clubs, which enjoy increasing popularity among customers worldwide,” the company announced during the introduction.
