KNIPEX Tools Recognized for Innovation
KNIPEX Tools LP-patented Universal Gripping Pliers won a 2017 Pro Tool Innovation Award (PTIA) in the Hand Tool category, while KNIPEX Ear Clamp Pliers won a PTEN Innovation award and a People’s Choice award in the Hand Tool category during recent judging.

The Pro Tool Innovation Awards are an annual awards program judged by a panel of professional tradesmen in the electrical, plumbing, MRO and concrete fields, as well as general contractors and builders. The awards seek to discover and recognize the most innovative tools in the residential and commercial construction industry across a wide variety of categories.

The Pro Tool Innovation Awards is backed by more than a dozen media sponsors, including its founding member, Pro Tool Reviews, which hosts the awards each year on its website.
The heavy-duty Universal Gripping Pliers feature a pivoting bottom jaw that automatically adjusts to any workpiece in the field, including square, hex and flat materials. The pliers also feature toggle lever action, adjustment screw and release lever, making the pliers ideal for secure, one-handed operation.
Now in its fourth year, the PTEN Innovation Awards are decided by a panel of judges representing tool professionals from across the United States. The judges weigh in on entries from top global manufacturers, and the KNIPEX Ear Clamp Pliers was selected as a recipient of an innovation award this year. The People’s Choice award is decided by readers who voiced their opinions on the top nominated products. The most popular picks, such as the Ear Clamp Pliers, are recognized as 2017 People’s Choice winners.
Available single or dual jaw options, the KNIPEX Ear Clamp Pliers are designed to not damage the press points on the ear clamps of a workpiece. They are ideal for work on CV boots, coolant and fuel lines, air pressure systems and compressors. The dual-jaw Ear Clamp Pliers option has an additional side jaw for easy clamping at a 90-degree angle when space is limited.
