Mecum Auctions, Sunday Car Club Launch Virtual Auction Experience in Fortnite

Mecum Auctions is collaborating with Sunday Car Club to introduce a first-of-its-kind virtual auction experience within Sunday Car Club’s Fortnite Island, company officials stated in a press release. Fortnite is an online multiplayer game with more than 650 million registered players, making it one of the most widely played games in the world. This collaboration brings the experience of live collector car auctions into the digital world, allowing players to buy and sell virtual vehicles through a fully immersive Mecum Auctions environment.

How the Virtual Mecum Auction Works in Fortnite

A Mecum auction will take place every 30 minutes, located in the island’s downtown hub, accessible to all players regardless of progression tier. In addition to user-listed vehicles, the auction will feature an array of ultra-rare and exclusive models available only through this in-game marketplace, enhancing both competition and collectability, noted the release. Mirroring a real Mecum auction, every car consigned will drive down the red carpet, stop on a turntable at center stage, and players can then bid on the vehicle.

To further enhance realism, players who consign a virtual vehicle to Mecum will trigger a dedicated in-game transport sequence, in which a Mecum Transport truck arrives at their virtual garage to deliver the vehicle to the auction stage, mirroring the real-world Mecum consignment process. Players can join the virtual Mecum Auctions experience on Sunday Car Club’s island using code 1338-2425-5585.

Virtual Experience Tied to Mecum’s 2026 Spring Classic in Indianapolis

The partnership launched May 8, 2026, in alignment with Dana Mecum’s 39th Original Spring Classic. Throughout the nine-day event, a curated selection of exclusive vehicles from the live auction will also be made available within the game, creating a dynamic connection between the physical and virtual auction experiences, auction officials said. The virtual Mecum Indy auction action at the Indiana State Fairgrounds runs through May 16, 2026, where an estimated 2,500 vehicles will cross the auction block.
