Petersen Automotive Museum Cruise-In to Support Wildfire Recovery

Special charity event includes fundraising, item collection & blood drive…

The Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles will host a charity cruise-in from 8-11 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 26, to thank first responders and support recovery efforts from the recent Southern California wildfires.

In partnership with Clarios and OPTIMA Batteries, proceeds raised from the cruise-in will benefit the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation and the LAPD West Bureau. In addition, the American Red Cross will be on hand with an information booth and Blood Donation Center.

The museum has also partnered with an items collection organization and will accept donations for distribution to evacuation centers and families impacted by the fires.

“We’re committed to showing up for communities in need, and the Petersen Automotive Museum is part of our extended community,” said Adam Muellerweiss, chief sustainability officer at Clarios. “It’s our privilege to stand with the heroic LA County first responders during these challenging times.”

The charity cruise-in is open to all vehicle makes and models. Show car tickets are $50 and include general admission to the museum, complimentary bagels, coffee and show car parking. The museum is halfway to its fundraising goal of $100,000.

“The devastation cause by the fires is heartbreaking, but we have been inspired by the dedication of first responders and the resiliency of our community. We are proud to team up with OPTIMA Batteries, Clarios and our incredible car community to support the ongoing recovery efforts,” said Terry L. Karges, museum executive director.

To further acknowledge first responders, the museum announced that all LA City fire and police personnel will receive a one-day free admission to the museum until April 26.
