Valtech and suspension manufacturer FOX Factory have collaborated to launch a mobile application and data platform in conjunction with the FOX Factory Silverado, a 700-hp limited edition turnkey super truck with FOX Factory’s 3.2 Factory Race Series Live Valve shocks.

Owners can take control of the Silverado’s suspension management system via the app on their mobile devices and access key features, including the ability to:

  • Tailor their vehicle’s ride to their desired performance characteristics in various terrains
  • Tune suspension outputs for peak performance
  • Record their rides
  • Receive ride usage and statistics for maintenance and improved system health
  • Download software updates for future enhancements

The Silverado suspension is controlled through FOX Factory’s Live Valve suspension management system, which manages ride dynamics with new sensors, a controller, and Dual Live Valve series dampers. The platform detects real-time data from accelerating, braking, steering, and inertial sensors every few thousandths of a second and independently adjusts the Live Valve shock compression and rebound base valves to their optimal settings.

The mobile app connects via Bluetooth to the ECU controller and enables FOX Factory to scale its connected suspension system by integrating across multiple product lines.

“We chose Valtech’s talented team to help us architect a scalable platform for the diverse vehicles we’re creating,” said Rob Stanford, director of software & electronics at FOX Factory. “We’re imagining new features across use cases far beyond this initial launch, and we’re excited to deploy them in the near future.”

Valtech worked closely with FOX Factory’s engineering and product teams to ensure the technology is aligned with their product roadmap.

“We’re in the business of utilizing technology to create amazing human experiences, and our partnership with FOX Factory shows the automotive industry’s tech boundaries are ready to be pushed,” said Ron Gaulden, executive technology director, connected experiences at Valtech.

Valtech and FOX Factory’s mobile app is just the first of more projects to come from the new partnership.
