Volara, Arkonik Team Up for Land Rover Ride and Drive Showcase at COTA

An invitation-only showcase pairs Land Rover restoration craftsmanship with a world-class racing weekend in Austin…

Volara Motorsports Group, in partnership with Arkonik, announced the Arkonik Ride and Drive Showcase, an exclusive, invitation-only event taking place Sept. 4–5 at Circuit of The Americas (COTA) in Austin, Texas. Guests will test-drive a curated lineup of handcrafted Arkonik Land Rovers and meet the restoration team behind them in a relaxed hospitality setting, company officials said in a press release.

The showcase is the first opportunity for U.S. enthusiasts, collectors and prospective owners to experience the full range of Arkonik’s engineering in one place, and the first time for Arkonik at the world-renowned COTA track. Arkonik says that each vehicle on hand has been selected to demonstrate the breadth of the brand’s craftsmanship, including:

  • Traditional diesel powertrains
  • 6.2L V-8 performance builds
  • Engaging manual transmissions
  • Refined factory automatic transmissions
  • Wheel, tire and ride-height options

Beyond the drive, guests will have direct, personal access to Arkonik’s restoration specialists—the people who source, strip, rebuild and finish every Defender by hand—to discuss build options, specifications and commissioning a vehicle, noted the release.

“Arkonik builds vehicles that reward the people who actually drive them, and there is no better way to understand that than from behind the wheel,” said Christian Okonsky, founder and CEO of Volara Motorsports Group. “Hosting this at COTA, on a big motorsport weekend in Texas, lets us bring Arkonik’s craftsmanship and the Volara community together in one place.”

“We’re incredibly grateful to Christian and the Volara team for the opportunity to showcase Arkonik at such an iconic venue,” said Thomas Parry, CEO of Arkonik. “There’s no substitute for getting behind the wheel and experiencing one of our Defenders firsthand, so we’re excited to put a range of our machines in front of enthusiasts and collectors at COTA. To be able to do that alongside a weekend of world-class racing makes it even more special and gives us a pretty good excuse to enjoy a little racing ourselves.”

Lone Star Le Mans Weekend

The showcase coincides with the Lone Star Le Mans, the FIA World Endurance Championship round at Circuit of The Americas, running Sept. 4–6. Trackside viewing and ticket packages for the race weekend are available through Volara Motorsports Group, giving Ride and Drive guests the option to extend their visit into a full weekend of world-class endurance racing, the company said.
