Visteon Developing Remote Driver Systems

Automotive cockpit electronics supplier Visteon is currently developing remote control systems to autonomous vehicles in partnership with Portland startup Designated Driver.

In the system, remote human monitors could take control of vehicles or send instructions to the vehicle on how to navigate complex scenarios that the car is not equipped to handle.
