Velocity Invitational Starts ‘Get Sideways with Ryan Tuerck Sweepstakes’

Velocity Invitational will launch general admission ticket sales for its 2024 event with an opportunity for five winners to ride along with renowned Formula DRIFT driver and motorsport personality Ryan Tuerck. Tickets for the fifth annual event, which returns to Sonoma Raceway on Oct. 4-6, go on sale Sunday, May 5.

In partnership with Mobil 1, the “Get Sideways with Ryan Tuerck Sweepstakes” will offer winners the chance to ride with Tuerck in his high-horsepower Toyota Stout drift truck around the 12-turn Sonoma Raceway road course.

“In light of our 50th anniversary, we are excited to collaborate with Velocity Invitational to provide such a unique driving experience at this year’s event,” said Ryan Allen, brand and partnerships manager for Mobil 1. “Mobil 1 is proud to support motorsports and its enthusiasts. Giving five winners a chance to drift with Ryan Tuerck feels like the ultimate way to celebrate.”

Tuerck began his career at an early age racing in motocross before competing in his first full drift season in 2006. He became known for his impressive drift builds, including the 1966 Toyota Stout, his Ferrari-powered Toyota GT4586 and the Formula Supra, which he showcases on his YouTube channel and other social media platforms.

Tuerck and his team completely transformed the 1966 Toyota Stout from a classic pickup to a modern pro-level drift car. The finished drifter features a Toyota 3S-GTE turbocharged engine capable of 650 horsepower with over a dozen custom parts.

“I love just about every facet of motorsports, and I’m looking forward to drifting the freshly repaved track with a few lucky folks,” said Tuerck. “The Stout has been a passion project, and I’m excited to represent the world of drifting at Velocity Invitational.”

Every Velocity Invitational ticket purchased between May 5 and July 4 will be automatically entered in the “Get Sideways with Ryan Tuerck Sweepstakes.

In addition to the sweepstakes, thrill-seekers can purchase tickets to ride along with professional drivers in rally cars. Tickets for the Gravel Rally Car Experience, which includes a ride with a professional rally driver in a DirtFish Subaru BRZ, are now on sale, while tickets for the Group B Rally Experience go on sale June 5.

The 2024 Velocity Invitational will feature modern hypercars, historic Formula 1 race cars and popular historic racing groups. The three-day event will also feature local cuisine and beverage options, such as a variety of wines from local vintners, in a luxurious, family-friendly setting.
