Dec 4, 2020

Performance parts distributor Turn 14 Distribution has awarded K&N Engineering with its first-ever Collaborative Supplier Award for 2020, the company announced.

The Collaborative Supplier Award is presented to Turn 14 Distribution’s most collaborative supplier over the last twelve months and is influenced by growth, depth of collaboration, support and relationship strength, the company said. K&N Engineering earned the 2020 Collaborative Supplier Award for its mutual support to capitalize on market opportunities, dedication to invest in new resources for product development and rapidly addressing changes to improve championing the brand to Turn 14 Distribution customers.

“Turn 14 Distribution is proud to announce K&N Engineering as the winner of our inaugural Collaborative Supplier Award. Both companies are fundamentally aligned and working closely to grow in an industry that’s changing at a breakneck pace. We truly appreciate K&N Engineering’s willingness to explore new opportunities and embrace feedback from our team. K&N has grown for fifty years, and we look forward to working with them for fifty more,” said Mike Malloy, Divisional Purchasing Manager, Turn 14 Distribution.

In the early 1960s, two motorcycle racers, Ken Johnson and Norm McDonald (K&N), developed a new idea for an air filter. After experimenting with numerous types of filter media, they discovered that an oiled cotton design allowed the filter to capture contaminants very efficiently and allowed it to be washed and reused, and the original K&N High-Flow Air Filter was born. Five decades later, K&N Engineering is still providing filtration technology for everything from top-fuel dragsters to commuter vehicles.

K&N Engineering products are designed and manufactured on-site. K&N is headquartered in Riverside, California, in a building complex spanning nearly 400,000 square feet, and also operates facilities worldwide. K&N facilities include engineering, product design, manufacturing, warehousing, test facilities, purchasing, sales, customer service, marketing and corporate offices. In addition to performance air filters, K&N manufactures various other protection and performance products, including air intake systems, oil filters, fuel filters, cabin air filters and home air filters.
