Muscle car builder and founder of Classic Recreations, Jason Engel, has launched a new brand, Trick Rides, debuting with the announcement of “Scorched,” an all-carbon widebody 1969 Mustang of which the new outfit will build only 20 examples.

The first vehicle is set to debut at the end of Q1 2025. The vehicle was tested in a simulated wind tunnel to enhance its aerodynamics and functionality. The entire body, including the bumpers, is made with pre-impregnated carbon fiber for maximum strength and weight savings, but more importantly, consistency across each model, the new company noted in a press release.

“I’ve built 600 Mustangs throughout my career, but I am especially excited about bringing Scorched to life,” said Engel. “This build is particularly special to me because it’s the first time I’ve had complete freedom to use the world’s most advanced technology to create the Mustang of my dreams and I’m thankful to do it with support from a talented partner like Jared.”

Customers will be able to choose from multiple drivetrain options, including a VMP Performance-supercharged 5.0-liter Coyote V8, a 429 cubic inch Kaase “Boss Nine” or a Ford Performance 427 cubic-inch V8. All three engine options are connected to a TREMEC T-56 six-speed manual transmission. Exhaust is handled by a custom exhaust system using Stainless Works headers and MagnaFlow mufflers.

Scorched will ride on a Roadster Shop chassis with independent front suspension utilizing coilovers from Fox, while the rear suspension features a parallel four-link design and Roadster Shop oversized sway bars to ensure dynamic handling and stability. Each model will utilize three-piece Forgeline wheels wrapped in Toyo Proxes R888R Z-rated tires to ensure maximum and road-holding capability. Stopping power is provided by Baer Brakes six-piston front and four-piston rear calipers.

All Scorched models will be built entirely in Trick Ride’s 31,000-square-foot workshop in Yukon, Oklahoma, by Engel and his business partner, Jared Morris. The first example will be painted in “Scorched Red,” complemented by exposed carbon fiber. The Mustangs also feature flush-mounted front and rear glass and Ringbrothers billet aluminum door handles, hinges, mirrors and LED taillights.

The Trick Rides Scorched Mustang is now available for pre-order with a starting price of $429,000. For more information on the limited-edition bespoke Mustang and Trick Rides, click here.
