The Petersen Automotive Museum has named Trent Abbott, vice president of global development at Hagerty, as the newest member of its CF200 executive committee.

Checkered Flag 200 (CF200) has been the museum’s leading membership group since 1994, uniting passionate auto enthusiasts and major collectors from around the world, according to museum officials in a press release. As a member of the executive committee, Abbott joins an elite group of automotive leaders and enthusiasts who will help develop and organize events and coordinate meaningful contributions from fellow CF200 members.

Abbott Has Extensive Knowledge of the Collectibles Market

With more than 25 years of experience in the high-net-worth space, Abbott has worked extensively in investment, insurance and the collectibles market. At Hagerty, Abbott specializes in managing risks related to extensive vehicle collections by offering comprehensive insurance coverage for cars used both domestically and internationally, noted the release. A lifelong automotive enthusiast, he frequently participates in vintage car rallies and regularly attends major concours events and auctions.

“Trent brings a unique mix of business skill and automotive enthusiasm to our CF200 executive committee,” said Bruce Meyer, founder and chairman of the CF200. “His passion for collecting and racing, combined with his industry knowledge, makes him a valuable addition to the other highly skilled individuals who will help lead the museum into the future.”

Abbott is joined on the CF200 board by founder and chairman Bruce Meyer, as well as executive committee members Mark Alfano, Robert Bistagne, David Brynan, Caroline Cassini, Kip Cyprus, Bill Hammerstein, Jim Hull, Dan Kahn, Matt Malamut, Tom Mclntyre, Ron Rader and Doug Weitman.

“It’s an incredible honor to join the CF200 executive committee,” said Abbott. “This is an exciting chance to work with friends and peers on a great cause and to make a difference in the hobby I love so much.”
