Tread Lightly! Continues BFGoodrich-Backed Trail Grant Program

Tread Lightly!, a nonprofit dedicated to promoting responsible outdoor recreation, is embarking on its third year of awarding grants through its the BFGoodrich Tires Outstanding Trails Program, the organization announced.

Each year, the Outstanding Trails Program provides opportunities for off-roading clubs across the United States to nominate trails to receive grants for education and conservation, the organization said. The first year Tread Lightly! awarded grants on behalf of BFGoodrich Tires was in 2021. To date, the awards have supported off-road trails across the U.S.

“BFGoodrich is committed to protecting outdoor recreation so that future generations can enjoy activities for years to come, so we’re thrilled to celebrate the third year of the BFGoodrich Outstanding Trails grants with Tread Lightly!,” said Harold Phillips, global general manager for BFGoodrich Tires and Tread Lightly! board chairman. “The impact of these projects have improved off-road trails across the country and we look forward to continuing to grow this impact and helping the Tread Lightly! mission to Protect the Adventure.”

Since 2006, BFGoodrich has awarded more than $245,000 in grants to support organizations dedicated to conserving off-road trails, the company said. Past grant recipients have installed educational signage, improved infrastructure and repaired local off-roading trails.

“Thank you to BFGoodrich Tires for continuing to support the motorized recreation community by funding the Outstanding Trails program in 2023,” said Matt Caldwell, Tread Lightly! executive director. “We encourage enthusiasts across the country to apply for these funds and look forward to accomplishing more great work to improve public lands and off-road trails.”
