TLC 4X4 Unveils FJ142 Land Cruiser
The unique build features an FJ62 body with an FZJ80 chassis...
TLC4x4 revealed a 1989 FJ142 that has been meticulously restored. Combining the chassis of an FZJ80 with the body of a classic FJ62, the all-new FJ142 blends modern functionality with the iconic style that made the Land Cruiser a road-going legend.
“This FJ142 maintains the style of a classic 1980’s-era Land Cruiser but implements the performance and upgraded amenities expected out of modern vehicles,” said Daniel Valjevac, owner of TLC4x4. “Combining legendary ’80s style with a brand-new 430-horsepower LS3 engine is one that is sure to attract attention out on the open road. We could not be more pleased with how this build turned out, because it enabled us to utilize the FZJ80 functionality of all time four-wheel-drive and modern braking components while retaining the classic style of the FJ62.”
This one-of-a-kind reimagined truck is built on a powder-coated FZJ80 frame and powered by a Chevrolet Performance LS3 Connect & Cruise engine. Stopping power comes from DBA rotors and pads, while suspension is improved with OME springs, FOX racing shocks, and Slee Off Road Sway Bar Drop Blocks.
Boasting a GM Cats full stainless steel 2.5” exhaust with magna mufflers, a red head steering box for precise control, and a TLC4x4 Long-Range 40 Gallon Stainless Steel fuel tank, this FJ142 was designed with longevity and reliability in mind.
Adorned in an Aventurine Green coat of Axalta Cromax XP paint, the exterior of this truck comes together with TLC4x4 enhancements including an off-road front bumper, rear bumper with tire carrier, front fender vents, and rear ¾ vents, along with a warn winch for added utility.
The truck rides confidently on 305 NV Method wheels and 33” Kenda Klever R/T tires to establish an impressive vehicle stature. Completing the exterior upgrades, TLC4x4 opted for JW Speaker LED headlights, ensuring clear visibility both on and off-road.
Inside the truck, you’ll find custom leather upholstery and upgraded front seats and a leather-wrapped and hand-stitched steering wheel. The dash boasts TLC4x4 brand gauges and a redesigned leather-wrapped center console with an integrated e-brake handle. Superior sound was added throughout with the upgraded Kicker KS Series Speaker system and JVC head unit featuring Apple Carplay and a backup camera.
TLC4x4 builds are available with a starting price of $250,000. For more information on TLC4x4’s projects and available vehicles, click here.
