The D Lot Raises Funds for Make-A-Wish

The D Lot celebrates its 10th anniversary, which kicked off at the Detroit Autorama Hot Rod Show, March 1-3 at Huntington Place (formerly Cobo Center). The D Lot has raised more than $135,000 for charitable causes, giving away nearly $320,000 in prizes and generating close to 200,000 meals for the hungry and helping valuable wishes for children in need become a reality.

Last year The D Lot raised $31,000 for Make-A-Wish Michigan, making The D Lot the charity’s second largest local fundraiser of 2023. The goal for 2024 is to raise $35,000.

The D Lot is already off to a good start toward this goal, thanks to its primary sponsors, Pilot Transport, 3D Car Care and Auto Metal Direct, along with collecting $6,800 in donations for raffle prizes during the 2024 Detroit Autorama.

The D Lot was inspired by Murray Pfaff of Pfaff Designs. It is an extension of his passion for designing cars, and the D Lot creates an opportunity for the automotive industry to give back to the community through its charity auction which is open until midnight March 17, and through The D Lot Pick-A-Prize product raffle, which took place during the 2024 Detroit Autorama.

Tickets for the Pick-A-Prize raffle were $5 each with a chance to win items ranging from a 52-inch toolbox, 65-inch smart TV, performance parts, tools, audio components and much more.

There is still time to participate in the online auction. Some of the items up for auction include a Detroit Historical Society guided tour for up to 10 people of The Secret Storage Facility, vehicle shipping anywhere in the lower 48 states from Pilot Transport, a certificate toward the purchase of any Phoenix Transmissions automatic transmission torque converter, a certificate for $500 toward the purchase of any AMD products, a certificate for 15% off a Schwartz Performance G-Machine Rolling Chassis and a certificate for $2,500 toward the purchase of a set of Forgeline Wheels.
