TechForce STEM Center to Debut at Barrett-Jackson Auction

TechForce Foundation will unveil the TechForce STEM Center presented by Shell and powered by Pennzoil at Barrett-Jackson’s Northeast Auction at Mohegan Sun in Connecticut June 26-29. The TechForce STEM Center is a 40-by-50-foot interactive mobile exhibit featuring hands-on activities to connect teens and young adults with automotive technology. The purpose of the exhibit is to showcase how science, technology, engineering and math (S.T.E.M.) subjects intertwine with the auto technician career path.

TechForce STEM Center activities will feature the STEM education team from Charlotte Motor Speedway, the co-hosts of The Car Chasers, Skidmarks Show and Flat 12 Gallery owners Jeff Allen & Meg Bailey, and TechForce ambassador and co-host of MotorTrend TV’s All-Girls Garage, Bogi Lateiner. Allen, Bailey and Lateiner will sign autographs and host giveaways during the event. Lateiner also can be seen at the TechForce’s Women Techs Rock! station that focuses on supporting more women in STEM and autmotie careers.

The TechForce STEM center also will appear at Barrett-Jackson auctions located in Las Vegas, Scottsdale, Arizona and Palm Beach, Florida.

TechForce is also inviting future techs enrolled in nearby high schools or post-secondary auto, diesel, collision, aviation, motorcycle, marine, restoration or motorsports classes to register for the TechForce behind-the-scenes tour of the Barrett-Jackson auction and the TechForce STEM Center. The nonprofit group will host two tours per day at 11 a.m. and 2 a.m. during the event days, June 27-29. Registration is free but space is limited.
