Takada Airbag Recall Still a Concern for Over 6.4 Million US Cars

A new report from Jalopnik notes that nearly 10 years after the Takada Airbag recall, nearly 6.4 million vehicles on the road have still not addressed the faulty airbag inflators.

In 2014, the initial recall affected over 67 million vehicles around the world.

Research conducted by the NHTSA has found around 40% of the unfixed vehicles are in particularly humid areas, where the inflators are more likely to have issues. Some of these states include California, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, and Texas.

The news site recommended owners use an open vehicle recall tool to help them determine of one of their vehicles may still be affected.
