Static Media Announces the Acquisition of Jalopnik.com

Digital media company, Static Media has announced the acquisition of the highly regarded automotive brand Jalopnik.com, a digital platform that has been dedicated to the culture of cars since 2005. Previously owned by G/O Media, Jalopnik brings Static Media’s portfolio up to a total of 28 brands, including  SlashFilm, The List, Tasting Table, House Digest, Chowhound and recently acquired Islands.

Jalopnik became Static Media’s first site dedicated to the automotive industry. It joins SlashGear.com in further aligning Static Media’s goal of offering more automotive content to a new audience and demographic, according to a press release. The company also states that Jalopnik will continue to serve car enthusiasts, whether casual or longtime fanatics, with expert guidance, tips, in-depth reviews and more.
