Sonoma Speed Festival Postponed

Sonoma Speed Festival Postponed | THE SHOPThe Sonoma Speed Festival has been postponed until May 2021 to comply with health and safety guidelines, organizers announced.

While they placed a high priority on compliance with health and safety guidelines to protect guests, participants, volunteers and the community, organizers said, they ultimately determined it would not be possible to comfortably and safely hold the event this year.

“We have already begun preparing for 2021,” said event Founder Jeff O’Neill. “The cars, the local businesses, the food and wine, it will all be back next year and we’ll continue to add to the event over the coming 11 months. We can’t wait to get back to racing and spending time with friends again next spring.”

During its inaugural event in May 2019, the Sonoma Speed Festival brought guests and automotive enthusiasts to Sonoma Raceway to enjoy local food and wine while watching race cars from past and present on the race track. The event drew everything from Ferrari 250 GTOs to a Mercedes-AMG Petronas W07 F1 car, which set a new track record. This year, the all-electric Volkswagen ID.R was set to make an attempt to be the W07 F1 car’s lap record.

Ticket sales have automatically been rolled over to the 2021 event.
