SCORE Baja 500 Set for July

SCORE International has set a date for its season opener, the Baja 500, the off-road racing organization has announced.

The race will be held from July 14-19 in Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico, with registration for entrants beginning on June 15.

The group continues to work with government authorities and private sector representatives regarding the COVID-19 situation in Baja California in order to determine under which best possible health protocols next month’s SCORE Baja 500 would take place as scheduled, it said in a statement announcing the event.

“SCORE International appreciates the patience and understanding of everyone involved as we diligently continue to monitor the current COVID-19 status in Baja California and the recommendations of both the U.S. and Mexican Governments,” commented Jose A. Grijalva, SCORE president/race director. “The health and safety of our racers, teams, fans and media continues to be our top priority at this time. We urge everybody to continue to follow the established guidelines by health officials. We Will Return Soon—Pronto Regresaramos.”

As soon as they are approved by government authorities, SCORE will announce the health protocol guidelines approved for application during race activities as well as hotels, restaurants and other types of services in Ensenada.
