The Rock Motorsports Hall of Fame (RMSHOF) announced that John Currie will be inducted as part of the Class of 2025.
Building on the foundation established by his father, who founded Currie Enterprises, John helped transform the family name into one of the most trusted and recognized in off-road, company officials stated in a press release. Alongside his brother, Ray Currie, who played a vital role in expanding Currie Enterprises, John carried the family legacy forward with vision and innovation that shaped the entire industry.
Through his brand, RockJock by John Currie, he developed groundbreaking suspension components that remain the gold standard for advanced off-road builds today, noted the release. His product designs have earned recognition at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA), where he has been honored with awards for innovation and engineering excellence.
Currie Helped Legitimize Rock Crawling as a Professional Sport
Currie was an early and dominant force in competitive rock crawling, where his driving skill and engineering expertise collided to change the sport. Competing in premier series such as ARCA (American Rock Crawling Association), RCAA (Rock Crawlers Association of America), WEROCK, and UROC, Currie captured championships and helped legitimize rock crawling as a professional motorsport. His presence in competition proved the capability of his designs and inspired a generation of drivers and builders alike.
“John Currie represents the full spectrum of what makes a Hall of Famer,” said Rich Klein, founder of Trail Hero and co-founder of the Rock Motorsports Hall of Fame. “He is an innovator, a competitor and a leader whose contributions—alongside the support and growth driven by his brother Ray—have defined an era in rock sports.”
The 2025 Rock Motorsports Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony & Gala Dinner will take place during Trail Hero at Sand Hollow Resort in Hurricane, Utah, on Wednesday, October 1, 2025. This celebration will honor John Currie alongside other inductees and recognize their lasting contributions to rock sports and off-road culture.
