Petersen Museum Hosts a ‘Free Day’ for Students Affected by Wildfires
Invites families to visit vehicle displays, kid-friendly exhibits & more…
The Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles offered free admission to students affected by California wildfires on Friday, Jan. 10.
As Southern California faces the devastation of historic fires and many school districts remain closed, the Petersen invited students enrolled in districts impacted by closures, including Los Angeles, Burbank, Glendale, Pasadena, Santa Monica and Malibu Unified, and their families to tour its vehicle displays and kid-friendly exhibits.
“Our hearts go out to everyone who has been impacted by the fires. We are incredibly grateful for our amazing Los Angeles community, especially first responders and those on the frontlines, and hope the opportunity to visit the museum brings a spot of brightness to families during a dark time,” said museum Terry L. Karges, executive director.
Open from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 10, admission was free for students with student IDs or families with school-aged children and proof of local residency.
The facility has hundreds of cars on display, plus a kid-friendly Discovery Center and Forza Motorsport Racing Experience. The museum’s current exhibits include “Best in Low,” a vibrant lowrider exhibit, and “Cars are Beautiful,” an immersive, hands-on exhibit created by LA artist Mr Brainwash.
