OPTIMA Celebrates SCORE San Felipe 250 Win

OPTIMA Batteries is celebrating as OPTIMA-sponsored driver Christopher Polvoorde won the Trophy Truck Spec Class and placed 11th overall at the King Shocks 35th SCORE San Felipe 250, the company announced.

The achievement was the highest any Trophy Truck Spec class competitor (limited by sealed 525 horsepower V8 engines) has ever finished the race, the according to SCORE. Polvoorde qualified fourth and finished with a final race time of 4 hours 53 minutes and 34 seconds at an average speed of 56.6 mph in his OPTIMA Batteries Ford Raptor Trophy Truck Spec. He placed ahead of 17 competitors from the unlimited-modification Trophy Truck Class, which competes with no horsepower or drivetrain restrictions.

“It was a short race, but such a long day, with so many variables. We started off horribly, and I thought that our day was over about 50 miles into the race,” Polvoorde said after his finish. “To be here now, it doesn’t seem real. I screwed up big, and when they told me I was in contention, I didn’t believe it. It’s my first San Felipe 250 and was an eventful day, but luck was on our side today.”
