OPTIMA Batteries announces sponsored driver Christopher Polvoorde took both the 2024 Toyo Tires Desert Challenge T1 class and overall wins in the unlimited No. 94 OPTIMA Ford Raptor AWD Trophy Truck.
“It was a fun race. I made an early mistake and got a flat, but we just put our head down,” said Polvoorde.
This was Polvoorde’s first time competing in the unlimited-modification T1 class at King of the Hammers. His finish the previous day was more than 12 seconds ahead of the competition. The 182-mile Desert Challenge racecourse featured two 91-mile laps, which Polvoorde finished in 3:16:57.8.
“I’ve got to give a huge shoutout to my pit guys. They’re really the ones that got this win. They got us in and out faster than Tim Herbst. They pulled me out of a bad situation,” said Polvoorde. “I’m super-happy with this first win in my own Trophy Truck.”
