New Gallium Nitride Semiconductors Could Decrease EV Charging Times
Navitas Semiconductor, a company that makes technology for super-fast phone chargers, is attempting to utilize that same technology to charge electric vehicles, according to a report from CNBC.
Using a material called gallium nitride, the company is creating a semiconductor that operates up to 20-times faster than silicon and makes it possible to deliver up to three-times more power and three-times faster charging in half the size and weight, the report said.
