Museum of American Speed Identifies Sea to Sea in a Model T Stop Locations

Museum of American Speed has identified Sea to Sea in a Model T stops across the country.

The Museum announced its plans earlier this year to make a coast-to-coast trip from New York to San Fransisco in a 1924 Model T Ford to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the 10-millionth Model T Ford. 

The trip departed June 2 from Battery Park in New York City with plans to travel along the historic Lincoln Highway ending in San Francisco. Stops that will be open to the public (and for media at AAA destinations) along the route will include:

• June 2 – Lancaster, PA Kick-off Reception at Eden Resort 222 Eden Road – 7 pm to 8 pm
• June 5 – Fort Wayne, IN AAA 607 Northcrest Shopping Center – 2 pm to 3:30 pm
• June 6 – Aurora, IL AAA Fox Valley Car Care Plus 35 Illinois Rte. 59 – 1 pm to 3 pm
• June 7 – Cedar Rapids, IA AAA 1519 42 St. NE Ste. 100 – 4:30 pm to 6 pm
• June 8 – Ames, IA Ames Ford Lincoln 123 Airport Rd. – 12 pm to 1 pm
• June 10 – Lincoln, NE AAA 4500 S. 70^th St. Ste. 116 – 11 am to 1 pm
• June 11 – Grand Island, NE Pump & Pantry Hwy 30 & Locust St. – 12 pm to 1 pm
• June 11 – Kearney, NE Classic Car Collection 3600 US-30 B – 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm
• June 13 – Cheyenne WY Littel American Travel Center 2800 W. Lincoln way – 4 pm to 5 pm
• June 14 – Steamboat Springs, CO AAA 2310 Lincoln Ave. Ste. A – 4 pm to 5 pm

Additional stops to be announced. Times may vary based on travel on the day of each event.

In June 1924, the Ford Motor company drove the ten-millionth Model T from New York to San Franscisco via the Lincoln Highway as a promotional effort. The ten-millionth Model T was recently donated to the Museum of American Speed by the family of the late, Dr. Alan Hathaway.

“After the trip is completed, the vehicle will be on permanent display at the Museum of American Speed in Lincoln, Neb.” Matthews added.

Speedway Motors has long been the title sponsor of the Museum of American Speed. Other companies that have signed on to support the sea to sea trip include Coker Tire, AAA, Bosselman and AmBest.
