MotorTrend Group has hired automotive aftermarket industry veteran Peter MacGillivray as a senior member to its sales team, the company announced. MacGillivray’s focus will be representing the combined portfolio of brands such as MotorTrend, HOT ROD and Four Wheeler and original content across multiple media and events channels, the company said. The announcement was made today by Matt Boice, vice president of aftermarket sales, MotorTrend Group.
“We have worked with Peter in various capacities over the last twenty years so I look forward to him joining the team and adding value to our clients and fans,” said Boice.
“I’ve enjoyed working with automotive aftermarket companies to develop successful integrated activations,” MacGillivray said. “I look forward to continuing this work in my new post.”
Prior to joining MotorTrend Group, MacGillivray worked in the automotive enthusiast events industry and served as vice president of business development for the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) where he oversaw the SEMA Show and other SEMA events, as well as SEMA media and public relations. In addition, he was an executive with the Performance Racing Industry Show and Performance Industry Racing Magazine.
He will maintain his current role as the marketing committee chairman and on the revenue growth committee for the Automotive Aftermarket Charitable Foundation, he said.
