MITO Corporation Attains ISO 9001:2015 Certification

MITO Corp. has been certified for the latest Quality Management System of ISO 9001:2015. The certification is within the scope of a wholesale distributor of standard and customized electronics and aftermarket products.

International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2015 is the most current standard of certification and focuses on a company leadership team’s ability to show consideration for customer and stakeholder perspective when making risk-based decisions.

ISO 9001:2015 places significantly higher requirements on companies’ Quality Management Systems than the previous version of the standard ISO 9001:2008, which is set to expire September 2018.

The process of certification was overseen by registrar British Standards Institute Group (BSI) through Carlos Pitanga, senior vice president of system certification and compliance. Over the course of the audit, the newly forged leadership team at MITO channeled the company’s core dedication to excellence and demonstrated its ability to utilize risk-based thinking to consistently provide products and services that meet or exceed customer expectations as well as applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, according to the company.

Gary Reese, operations manager at MITO, stated that this effort to certify excellence will not stop with MITO. “Our team is actively assisting and challenging partners in our supply base to also adapt to these new ISO 9001:2015 requirements. It’s our hope that they too can experience the same successes that we have had through exercising this process.”

Founded in 1974, MITO Corporation is a distributor of market electronics goods, specializing in the RV, automotive, transit and marine industries.
