Meyer Distributing Opens New Pennsylvania Cross-Dock

aftermarket parts distributionMeyer Distributing has opened a new cross-dock in Reading, Pennsylvania, the parts distributor announced.

The new location will have a direct, next-day feed from Meyer’s East Hanover, New Jersey and Scranton, Pennsylvania distribution hubs, which house inventories of automotive, RV and marine accessories and replacement parts as well as outdoor lifestyle, janitorial/sanitation and industrial products.

“The density of traffic and vehicles in the Northeast warrants expansion of our crash and collision logistics distribution points,” says Jim Sherman, sales manager of the crash and collision parts division at Meyer Distributing. “It’s been tremendous how many first-time customers we have received throughout the Northeast in the last year through estimating systems like CCC, PartsTrader, Mitchell, etc. as well as with direct to business relationships whereby we can also provide shop supplies to keep things running well on the floor. At a time when others’ inventories are going down, ours have never been higher. We look forward to earning a better WD spot on the customer call list and keeping the competition honest.”

“More distribution points lead to shorter routes and happier drivers,” said Jeff Braun, CEO of Meyer Distributing. “In today’s environment, finding the right balance between complexity of a logistics network and driver retention is key. We look forward to providing more consistent and reliable service from this dock from Maryland to New York and everywhere in-between.”
